"Talam Cake”



Hi guys ! 😊

This is my first blog 😂 so.. i want introduce my self , my name is Natasya Ervina you can call me tasya and i am from North Sumatera (bataknese). I live in North Bekasi.
I have a unique name in my class “Tasya Toughtful”. I’m student from Universitas Kristen Indonesia. 


And i want to show about one of the food from my village , it is talam cake . 
Tarutung , besides being known as a city of spritual tourism, this small town located in North Tapanuli is also known for its typical foods, such as Kacang Sihobuk and not to miss this one, 


This talam cake is made from brown sugar mixed with coconut milk, rice fluor, sagu flour and other complementary ingredients such as salt and sugar.  How to cook from this cake has its own techniques such as temperature and rhythm of a particular whisk so that the maturity is right, because that is also why not everyone can make this one cake . Time also has a big influence in making this cake, it should not be too ripe or too quickly removed because the results will not be as desired. 
The product of processed coconut milk and brown sugar will produce a light brown golden talam cake on the part of the brown sugar, and thick white in the coconut milk. This one cake is usually served with brown sugar at the bottom , and the coconut milk which is placed at the top. 



The name of the cake itself is called cake talam because the cake is cooked in a talam ( Large circle shaped baking sheet), and usually the seller of the cake immediately takes the cake from the talam if 
someone buys it. When freshly baked, this talam cake only looks like a white ocean inside the talam.
But if it’s already taken to be divided into small plates, just seen a golden layer of light brown with frozen white coconut milk topping on it which is very appetizing. Enjoy this one special food, it feels more enjoyable when eaten in hot conditions. 

I think everyone like this cake. So... you must try it. 😊
